Australian Business Units Plan to Appeal against Recent 4G Spectrum Auction

As per Reuters, the Austrian business units of Hutchison Whampoa and Deutsche Telekom are planning to file a petition against the consequence of the latest 4G spectrum auction of the country.
Telekom Austria, the other operator to secure frequencies, has said that the decision related to filing of official complaint will be taken next month.
The major complaint is regarding the rules of the auction that are very harsh.
Hutchison's H3G is undoubtedly distressed because it was not able to get an important 800MHz spectrum. It wants auction to be repeated.
Jan Trionow, H3G's CEO, said in a statement quoted by Reuters, "the auction process was illegal in form and in substance. [H3G] was considerably harmed. To simply accept this would be irresponsible".
The highest amount was paid by Telekom Austria, _1.03 billion for 14 spectrum blocks. T-Mobile, which paid nine blocks for _654 million, followed by Hutchison, which paid _330 million for five blocks.
As per the report of Reuters, it is expected that the Austrian courts would take about two years to rule on the appeals. This means operators will move forward with their plans to make their next-generation networks on the given frequencies.
Hutchison Whampoa's Austrian telecoms unit said that it would file a petition against the outcome of a spectrum auction that cost the country's three carriers 2 billion euros ($2.7 billion).
